Hilda’s mum is becoming more and more frustrated about keeping track of her intrepid daughter. Though relaxed in to life in the city now, Hilda is starting to shirk her responsibilities and her mother suspects that she’s not always honest about the nature of her adventures. Whether told to go to bed early or stay in her room, with her band of magical friends and tricky ways, it’s easy for her to defy her mother’s wishes… until Hilda is grounded. She stages a typical but particularly daring escape attempt, which is thrown wildly off course when her mum catches her and is dragged along for the ride. The pair find themselves stuck, furious with each other, on the wrong side of the wall and forced to embark on a dangerous adventure through the land of the trolls and stone forests…
